1/16/2009 Happy New Year! I have currently been working on my new series of reflective glass studies. These are still lives of light, water, glass. I call this my ''controlled water''. It seems to be quite enlightening getting back to the basics of a still life, I feel that an artist should paint this way to keep the other aspects of their work evolving. I find it quite interesting to bounce between the kinetic energy of my more abstract reflections, to the stillness of my controlled water. I am excited to explore this direction and where it will take me! Elena
